80’S
I started singing with my friends and we won the local Soundmix-show. That’s when I started taking singing-lessons, spent hours and hours in my bedroom listening, analysing and singing, and joined my first band at sixteen.

70’S
Born in Wervershoof, watched Top-Pop with my dad, got a little brother, moved to Wognum at the age of five and lived in a caravan the first year (while my parents were building the house). There I played in the school’s musical and sang in the village’s choir.

90’S
Besides discovering Jazz and Worldmusic and graduating from the Conservatory in Alkmaar, I was sort of band-hopping: Break, CakeWalk, La Luna… And yes, I bought my first car with money earned from my gigs. I felt proud, joyful and free. ‘Woman who run with wolves’ was my bible – trying to figure out this thing called life.
